Watonga Teen Signs with KU, Named Scholastic All-American, Focused on Junior Nationals

Watonga’s Lydia Lafferty signed her National Letter of Intent to swim for the University of Kansas on National Signing Day this past Wednesday. Earlier this fall, the homeschooled senior was named among the USA Swimming’s Scholastic All-Americans by meeting a minimum 3.5 grade-point average and swimming a 2019 Winter Junior National qualifying time.

Kiwanis to Turn Over Summer Baseball and Softball to a Parent Group

WATONGA — The Watonga Kiwanis Club has been sponsoring summer league baseball and softball for years. In 2022, however, it will no longer sponsor or run summer baseball and softball. It is the hope of Kiwanis that a parent-run organization will take over this responsibility.
