A second wild whitetailed deer has tested positive for chronic wasting disease (CWD) in Oklahoma. The deer was located about 15 miles east of Woodward in Woodward County after a landowner reported the deer behaving abnormally.

Watonga schools have announced enrollment for students. All students in grades pre-k through 12 will need a parent to come enroll them at the high school commons area.

According to coach Alyssa Fuxa, Bruce Geels loaded and helped unload 43 chalk bags for the softball fields. The chalk was donated by U.S. Gypsum. Fuxa gave a huge thanks to both the company and to Geels for the help to the program. and dice rolls are also $10.

A skills and drills camp will be held for Eagles football players and prospects in third through eighth grades. The camp will run from 10-11:30 a.m. July 31-Aug. 2. Cost is $50, water will be provided and there is no pre-registration necessary.

The Watonga wrestling program is holding its third annual golf tournament. The event will tee off Saturday, Aug. 19 at Roman Nose State Park Golf Course. The deadline for entries is Aug. 11. Cost is $300 per team and $100 per individual. Mulligans are offered two for $20, throws for $10

Each Friday from 10-11 a.m., area kids are welcome to stop by Watonga Artworks on Main Street. There they can spend time exploring their creative side with Linda Barrett, who coaches them in painting and drawing. There is no fee for the exercise.
