Athlete Spotlight: Charley’s Senior Year of New Things

Ashliegh Charley goes to Geary High School where she is getting ready to finish out her senior year. She started the year by trying out for the cheer team for the first time and making it, and is now ending the year playing slow pitch softball, something else she had never done before.

Watonga Boys, Girls Bounced from Playoffs in Hennessey

The Watonga Lady Eagles were held scoreless during the overtime period on Friday afternoon in Hennessey, ending their playoff run with a narrow 45-40 loss to the Merritt Oilerettes.

Athlete Spotlight: Maddox Finds Home Outdoors and on the Baseball Field

Kyler Maddox is a senior at Watonga High School and is looking forward to his upcoming baseball season. He is an outdoorsman and can always find himself hunting or fishing. Kyler is in the marching band, and he is gearing up for graduating this spring.

Athlete Spotlight: State Qualifier Rooted in His Culture

Ernesto Duenez is 16 and a junior at Watonga High School. He’s very involved with his school activities, as he’s in a number of clubs and he’s in football and wrestling. He’s gone to Watonga Public Schools for all of his life, and is now enrolled at the Western Technology Center for engineering.
