Eagles Win Big at Homecoming

WATONGA — The Watonga Eagles this season have practically mastered the art of the comeback victory, with thrilling late-game heroics sealing wins last week against Crescent and in September at Minco.

Lady Eagles XC Heading to State; Coleman Wins Regional Meet

WATONGA – The Watonga Lady Eagles cross country team continued its strong season Saturday in Waurika, finishing second overall at its Regional meet to qualify for State this weekend. Reese Coleman ran a 12:34.66 time over 2 miles to place first overall for Watonga.

Waynoka Railroads Bison in Geary

On Thursday, Oct. 14, Geary High School played against Waynoka High School in Geary and fell 46-0 in a game that ended in the third quarter. The loss brought Geary to 1-3 on the season, and Waynoka’s record is now 6-1.

Bridges, Barton Nab All-District Honors

Watonga’s Aubrey Bridges and Mary Barton were named to the Class 2A-3 All-District first team last week, and their teammate Landri Hussey was an Honorable Mention for the team.

Watonga Middle Schoolers Show Out at All-Star Race

The Watonga Middle School boys and girls excelled during the 2A Junior High All-Star Cross Country Championships last Thursday, Oct. 14 in Chickasha. The boys netted a No. 2 overall finish, boosted by Brayden Cowan’s winning run.

Watonga Drops 2nd Straight at Tonkawa

TONKAWA — The Watonga Eagles made one of their longest trips of the season Friday night to Tonkawa, and couldn’t overcome an early deficit in a 26-18 loss to the Buccaneers.
