Watonga’s Aubrey Bridges and Mary Barton were named to the Class 2A-3 All-District first team last week, and their teammate Landri Hussey was an Honorable Mention for the team.

The Watonga Middle School boys and girls excelled during the 2A Junior High All-Star Cross Country Championships last Thursday, Oct. 14 in Chickasha. The boys netted a No. 2 overall finish, boosted by Brayden Cowan’s winning run.

Watonga Interim Chief Vales Placed on Leave

WATONGA – Interim Watonga Police Chief Aaron Vales has been placed on paid administrative leave, city officials said, months after former Chief Shawn Kays was fired. Watonga City Manager Karrie Beth Little confirmed Vales is on leave but declined to comment further.
