Watonga Softball Stars Shine at All-Conference Game

WAUKOMIS – Three Watonga softball standouts participated in the Tri-County All-Conference Game at Pioneer High School on Tuesday, Oct. 6. Senior Haylee Roberts, junior Natalie Walker and sophomore Aubrey Bridges competed alongside girls from Pioneer and Kingfisher.

Geary Celebrates Homecoming but Falls to Buffalo, 22-6

GEARY – Homecoming king Major Lewis notched a passing touchdown and carried the ball 19 times on Friday, but that wasn’t enough to push Geary over the top as they fell 22-6 to Buffalo in a battle of the Bison.

Watonga Interim Chief Vales Placed on Leave

WATONGA – Interim Watonga Police Chief Aaron Vales has been placed on paid administrative leave, city officials said, months after former Chief Shawn Kays was fired. Watonga City Manager Karrie Beth Little confirmed Vales is on leave but declined to comment further.

KINGFISHER – The Geary Lady Bison traveled to Kingfisher last Thursday, Sept. 23, for District play against Dover and Leedey.
