State Hits Over 285,000 Cases

Death Toll Topples 2,400

As of January 1, 2021, there were 287,030 confirmed cases of the Covid-19 virus in the state, up by 3,249 in the last 24 hours according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health. There were 48 deaths reported in the last day. This brings the death toll to 2,453.

In Blaine County, according to emergency management officials, there are 74 active cases.

There are 15 cases in Canton; 6 cases in Geary; 7 cases in Longdale; 19 cases in Okeene, 3 in Hitchcock and 25 in Watonga. The cases are noted by zip code, so those ill may not live inside the city limits, just in the vicinity.

There are 19,740,468 cases cumulative reported nationally, up 229,042 since the last numbers were released by Johns Hopkins University. There have been 342,312 deaths in the United States, up 3,744 since last report.
