USDA Local Food Procurement Assistance Program Launches

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Oklahoma farmers and producers searching for a unique avenue to sell their products are encouraged to apply for the Oklahoma Local Food Procurement Assistance program, created in cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Marketing Service, Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry and Oklahoma Department of Human Services. Through LFPA, ODAFF will work to purchase and distribute Oklahoma grown, produced, and processed food to local underserved communities, helping to expand economic development for both the producers and the communities they serve.

No Action at Kays Preliminary Hearing

We had a lady bring her three grandsons that are home schooled this week. The boys were eight, six, and four years old. They were very attentive. It gives me such pleasure when children show such an interest in history. The six year old put his hands in his pockets when I mentioned we don’t touch things when they went upstairs. The lady said she needed to go home and check on her dog before we were finished with the tour but wanted to come back and finish the tour. She ask what days I was there and I explained that it varied but if she called me I would be glad to meet them there. She said “good because I want you to give us the rest of the tour.”

Watonga Homecoming Takes It Back to The 80s

This week marks homecoming at Watonga schools. They will celebrate with various themed days, such as sweat day on Monday, Tuesday being Scrabble day, Adam Sandler day on Wednesday, and Thursday as 80s day.
