Zumwalt Announces Retirement from Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department

OKLAHOMA CITY ( — After more than a decade of state service, Shelley Zumwalt announced today her retirement as Executive Director of the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department (OTRD) to pursue the next phase of her career in the private sector.

Congress Avoids Government Shutdown

After weeks of delays, a failed vote on a previous spending bill and a looming government shutdown, Congress passed a bipartisan spending bill to keep government funding flowing at its current level through December 20.

Medicare Town Hall Slated

AARP Oklahoma is hosting an interactive telephone town hall focusing on the Medicare open enrollment period on October 8 at 10 a.m. Open enrollment is Oct. 15 through December 7.
