Dispatch for the Blaine County Sheriff's Office has been transferred to 9-1-1 dispatch in Weatherford. The change is effective immediately and has been in the works for some time. Sheriff Travis Daugherty said the 9-1-1 system should be used for all emergency calls.

Smiling Cutouts Represent Sad Truths

Like the abused or neglected children they represent, the wooden children are seemingly everywhere. There are some scattered on the courthouse lawn, a few at the Watonga Police Department and even a bunch over at City Hall. Sadly, there are more this year than last, about 20 more all told.
