A Senate Review

Body
This past week, the Legislature met in special session to complete our work redrawing the boundary lines for legislative and congressional districts. We’re required by law to redraw district lines every 10 years to make adjustments for population changes. Normally, this process is completed in the session following the year in which the U.S. Census has been conducted, but because of the impact of the pandemic on the census, the final numbers were not available until August, some three months after the session ended.

Masons Donate to Senior Center

Body
The Watonga Masonic Lodge #176 presented a fundraising check on November 5 to the Watonga Senior Citizen's Center in the amount of $9,222.00. The Masonic Lodge traditionally holds a fundraiser for the Center every year. This year's check was especially appreciated as the Center's budget was hit hard by rising food prices. Thanks to several large donations the amount raised this year set a new record. Geary Beta Club Seeks Angel Tree Donations

Body
Geary Beta is bringing an Angel Tree for the Holidays. It is our way to bring amazing holidays to the kids of Geary Schools. We are asking for donations to help make these holidays amazing, and bring a warm smile to a child’s face. Please do not wrap donations as it makes it harder for us to deliver them when wrapped. We appreciate gifts donated in bags or sacks. We also ask that you please bring your angel along with the gifts so we can identify which child to deliver to. Our angels will be located in the Geary High School building and are to be delivered to the office. We will no longer accept after the 6th of December! For any questions please contact Mrs. Goodknight and Mrs. Lowery - Your Geary Beta Club Sponsors.
