State 4-H Wheat Show

OKLAHOMA CITY — Blaine County 4-H Members receive High Honors at State 4-H Wheat Show Banquet held on November 17 at the Embassy Suites in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Four-teen of the top twentyfive samples were shown by Blaine County 4-H members. Listed below are the winners from Blaine County with the variety of wheat they exhibited. The contest is sponsored by the Oklahoma Wheat Commission, Oklahoma Wheat Research Foundation, Oklahoma Genetics Incorporated, Westbred, Oklahoma State University, and the Oklahoma Department of Career Technology and Education. Scholarships are funded by Wheat Check-off dollars and awarded to the top five 4-H entries and the top five FFA entries.

Hi everyone! I hope your week was good. It seemed to pass really fast. I know you are all looking forward to thanksgiving. I can almost smell those wonderful traditional dishes. My favorites are turkey, dressing and gravy. My family are all meeting in OKC for thanksgiving lunch. Were not sure where yet, but probably Golden Corral. It’ll be fun wherever we go. These are the ones who carried our meals on wheels lunches last week. Pat Brewer, Sharon Barnes and Karen Dugger, Curt and Brenda Stein, Janice Hood, and Vernon Brickman. Watonga’s Cornerstone Bank Purchased by OKC Firm

WATONGA – Cornerstone Bank, a longtime cornerstone of the Watonga community and economy, has been purchased by an Oklahoma City bank. Bank7 announced in October it has entered into an agreement to acquire Cornerstone, with both banks’ boards of directors approving the transaction unanimously.

BabyMobile to Make a Stop in Weatherford

Infant Crisis Services will drive their BabyMobile to First Baptist Church of Weatherford, 1510 E. Davis Avenue, on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. The BabyMobile will be set up from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and will distribute one week’s worth of food, formula, and diapers. The BabyMobile serves children 3 years old and younger.
