Hi, everyone! Sure hope you’re all doing well. It was a good week. But I really missed Sunday night football! I’m looking forward to August. Last week it was Curt and Brenda Stein delivering meals two days while Vernon Brickman, Sharon Barnes and Janice Hood delivered on the other days.

Barn Quilt Workshop

The Blaine County OSU Extension offices are offering barn quilt workshops on Tuesday, April 30 in the Foley Building at the Blaine County Fairgrounds in Watonga. These workshops will begin at 10 a.m. for anyone that would like to create their own barn quilt.

Sheriff: ‘We Are All Border Counties’

The border crisis isn’t stopping at the border, according to Blaine County Sheriff Travis Daughtery. “Every county, city and small town has a border crisis problem,” he said Tuesday. The migrants may come here for the right reasons, to find a better life for themselves and their families.

Calumet Bond to Build Grade School Kitchen

On February 13, Calumet School patrons passed a bond for $2.63 million. A bond is a financial instrument used by schools, municipalities and other organizations to raise funds. Essentially, it is similar to a car loan a consumer might take out.

Sometimes I listen to the national news either as it is broadcast or later when it is carried on subscription channels. Granted, those ‘other’ channels can be a little sketchy because you have to wonder what the agenda is behind them.

What’s the Difference Between Broke and Poor?

There is an enormous difference between someone who is broke and someone who considers themselves poor. Being broke refers to a current financial situation. Poor is a state of mind. The person who is broke can rectify their circumstances by improving their finances.
