State Parks Plan Multiple Fall Events

With fall right around the corner, the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department is sharing ways that Oklahomans can enjoy the cooler temperatures, explore the outdoors and see the natural beauty of our state parks.

Lankford Presented With Benjamin Franklin Award

American Farmers & Ranchers (AFR) recently presented two Oklahoma legislators—Sen. James Lankford (R-OK) and Rep. Kevin Hern (OK01)—with the National Association of Mutual Insurance Company’s (NAMIC) Benjamin Franklin Public Policy Award. The awards were presented in Washington, D.C.

Hi, everybody! I hope you are all well. I was at Walmart last week and decided to take a flu shot. Apparently, it was too soon after my virus sickness as it has set me back some. I just can’t get my strength back. I’m loading up on vitamins and iron but I just can’t do much.

Big-game hunting forecast positive despite challenges

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation predicted another banner year as big-game hunting seasons opened this week. But like any good hunting expedition, the season ahead has some challenges.

Alicia Ford Named Geary Top Cop

Alicia Ford is a familiar face around Blaine County. She started in law enforcement back in 2008 when she became a dispatcher for the sheriff’s office. She was there about five years as a dispatcher and jail assistant.

Forecast: Clear and Bright With a Strong Chance of Cheese

The 46th Annual Cheese Festival is just around the corner and promises to be a vibrant event. For the first time, festival t-shirts are available for purchase before the big day. They are $20 and may be purchased at Watonga City Hall.

School Year in Full Swing at Geary Public Schools

The school year is in full swing, as reported to the Geary School Board Monday in regular session. According to Tasha Jefferson, the elementary school principal, that facility is hosting 35 students at a mini-cheer camp and there are about 45 in the after-school program.
