IThe Watonga City Council completed the paperwork on the airport runway renovation, including a signifigant refund, at its recent meeting.

In keeping with its reputation for brilliantly painted murals and buildings, Okeene is in the running for an award from Paint Oklahoma Beautiful, an arm of Keep Oklahoma Beautiful. The project up for the accolades is the new paint job on the former blacksmith shop across the street from the Okeene Hospital. Hopes are the building will continue to be dressed up with period symbols of the smithing trade.
