In a regular meeting that resembled final Jeopardy! in its brevity, the Watonga School Board heard a mostly positive report on the state of the district finances. The general fund showed a month-end balance of $ 9.18 million, despite expenditures of $1.5 million.

California Woman Killed in Local Crash

According to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a California woman was killed Sunday in a single vehicle collision west of Hydro. The report indicates Arthur DeJesus, 53, of Whittier, Calif., was the driver of a 2016 Harley motorcycle at the time of the accident.

Watonga City Manager Karrie Beth Little has been nominated for the Oklahoma Municipal League’s Don Rider Award. The award honors outstanding municipal professionals and highlights the importance of public service.

$23 M in Grants Announced
