According to court documents, Watonga head football coach Clint Benway was arrested September 8 by the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office and charged with driving a motor vehicle while under the combined influence of alcohol and drugs, a misdemeanor. He was released from custody on $1,000 bail.

An auction of unused or obsolete firearms, ammunition and drones was held September 12 by the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office. The offerings included two drones, one of which was a very expensive model that is no longer made.

Site Selected for Mental Health Hospital

The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services announced today it will construct a new 330-bed mental health hospital on the Oklahoma State University Oklahoma City campus. The hospital will be named Donahue Behavioral Health.

Watonga Homecoming Week

It is Homecoming Week in Watonga. The festivities will run all week long and include events at all schools. For example, on Monday, there was a homecoming softball game with Thomas, where the seniors were presented for senior night and everyone was encouraged to wear red, white and blue.
