As we prepare for the 2021 legislative session, Senate Pro Tempore Greg Treat recently announced committee leadership and assignments. I’m honored that the Pro Tem has entrusted me to lead both the Rules Committee and Appropriations Subcommittee on Natural Resources and Regulatory Services as chairman.

Oklahoma gas prices have risen 4.5 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $1.90/g today, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 2,294 stations. Gas prices in Oklahoma are 13.0 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 31.7 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.

I thought that I wouldn’t be making anymore comments about the Covid 19 virus, but I’m going to have to make one today. Folks, this virus is not predictable as to whom it is going to kill. Major and Blaine Counties OSU Extension is offering a program for parents, grandparents, child care providers and other caregivers titled “Active Parenting.” In the program, the following topics will be addressed: being an active parent, cooperation and communication, responsibility and discipline, building courage and self-esteem, understanding and redirecting misbehavior, and active parenting for school success. “Active Parenting” will be from 6-8 p.m.
