Voters in Blaine County who want absentee ballots mailed to them for the Nov. 8 General / Special Election should apply now, County Election Board Secretary Brenda Rice said today. Absentee ballots are available to any registered voter, provided they are eligible to vote in the election requested.

Avery Fisher from Okeene, recently placed first in the Other Wheat Breads Category of the junior division at the state “Best of Wheat” bread baking contest held Sept. 25 at the Oklahoma State Fair. Her entry of Challah Bread topped the other entries in the class.

Hi everybody! Well, we made it through another Cheese Festival. We can all rest up now and get ready for Halloween. Get your candy stocked up. I don’t decorate anymore. No one comes to our house and most of our block is usually dark. We had a great turnout for our turkey dinner last Friday.

Fall is finally arriving, hopefully some moisture will come soon with the cooler temperatures. Fall is a great time to plant many landscape plants. The cooler temperatures are less stressful on plants allowing them to put more energy into root development.
