I’m writing this before the last edition of the paper came out, so I don’t know if I received any feedback from anyone. It scares me to think about how easily we believers have compromised what we know God wants us to do because they tell us it is for our own safety.

Active Covid-19 Cases Slump Statewide, Deaths Show Uptick

The Oklahoma State Department of Health figures for Aug. 11 show 44,728 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in the state, up 765 since the onset of the pandemic in the United States. There are 6,917 active cases, down 63 since the last report. Of those, 530 are hospitalized.

District Clarifies Back to School Plan

The Watonga School Board, meeting in regular session Aug. 10, readjusted its return to school plan. The revised plan includes many of the already-agreed upon items, such as self-screening for students and employees for fever or other symptoms of Covid-19.

Pioneer Wins $24M Grant from USDA

Federal dollars are finding their way to this part of Oklahoma, according to a recent press release from Pioneer Telephone Cooperative. That company has nailed down a $24.2 million grant for fiber optic service to individuals in rural Oklahoma.
