“Hear Us”: Protesters Line the Streets in the Wake of George Floyd’s Death

On May 31 around 2:30 p.m. the Black Lives Matter-OKC organized a rally at the corner of Northeast 36th Street and Kelley Avenue, where thousands of people gathered and peacefully protested in response to George Floyd’s death.

Utility Bills See Billing Error

Some Watonga residents were pleasantly surprised when they opened their most recent utility bill. Sadly, the sensation will be short-lived. According to city manager Larry Mitchell, there was a billing error on all 1,330 residential accounts that used an incorrect rate for electricity charges.

Covid-19 Update for June 3

The Oklahoma State Department of Health has released updated statistics for the Covid-19 virus. It shows 6,805 confirmed cases, up 113 from yesterday, with two new deaths, bringing the total to 334 statewide. There have been 5,711 recoveries and some 125 remain hospitalized.
