Death Toll Topples 6,500
As of April 16, there have been 443,756 confirmed cases of the Covid-19 virus in the state, up by 3,733 since last reported by the Oklahoma State Department of Health. There were 28 deaths since last reported by the Oklahoma State Department of Health. This brings the death toll to 6,697. 10,030 active cases. 427,029 recovered and 25,497 hospitalized.
In Blaine County, according to emergency management officials, there are 39 active cases.
There are 8 cases in Canton; 3 cases in Geary; none in Hitchcock; two cases in Longdale; one case in Okeene and 24 in Watonga. The cases are noted by zip code, so those ill may not live inside the city limits, just in the vicinity.
There are 31,495,649 cases cumulative reported nationally, up 74,289 since the last numbers were released by Johns Hopkins University. There have been 565,289 deaths in the United States, up 887 since last report.
