Hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving. Things have been quiet this week at the museum. No visitors with the Thanksgiving holiday and Clay spent time with his family. It’s hard to believe it’s almost 2022.

I was going through my records the other day and found that the first article I did for this paper was dated October 18, 2018. That means it has been included in this paper for three years now. That hardly seems possible to me. I guess time flies as you get older.

With Thanksgiving here, several first-time cooks are at a loss as to how to prepare a turkey for the holidays. Let's listen in on a call to the turkey hotline.

Saturday was a great day at the Ferguson Home. We had a group come by from a Methodist Church in the Oklahoma City area called the Sisterhood of the Traveling Church Van. They said David Clewell used to be their pastor. They were going to go by Clewell’s Hardware and say hi. We were told they try to go somewhere off the beaten path once a month and we were chosen this time. While they were walking out a lady brought her two daughters for a tour. They were from Elk City and were in Watonga visiting her grandmother who lived down the street. She said she thought the museum was closed. Barbara told her it wasn’t that it just needed attention. The open flag has been a good thing to have. She isn’t the only one to see it and come for a visit.

In our last lesson I introduced the book of Micah. You might remember that God pronounces judgment on those not following His word. In this lesson I want to share with you some of the statements contained in Micah that make it a book worth reading and learning.

We had visitors from Illinois this week. I don’t know what they were doing in Watonga but they seemed to enjoy touring the museum and hearing the history.

Dear Editor, I am encouraged by recent advances in prevention and control of the SARS­2 virus pandemic including new indications for highly effective vaccines to prevent Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID19). First, for certain persons who were vaccinated with an RNA (Pfizer and Moderna) and for all persons who received the (Johnson and Johnson/Jansen) vaccine, a booster dose is highly recommended to give better protection.

Having finished Jonah, it is now time to start learning about the book of Micah. The following is from one of my study Bibles: Introduction: Micah prophesied in Judah during the reigns of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah (about 750–700 B.C.), at about the same time as Isaiah.

I've always had an aversion to making medical appointments, going to medical appointments, and dealing with insurance companies. I particularly dislike going to my eye doctor. Why you ask? Well, I'll tell ya. I've been wearing glasses since the fifth grade. My first pair was the deluxe dork-o, hard plastic, safe for children model that looked good on no one. Dad used black electrical tape when they'd snap in half at the nose after about six months. A few years later I graduated to 'Cat's Eye' glasses. They looked so attractive on a middle school girl–Not.

Do other wives have this problem? I swear my husband thinks he's Mario Andretti racing in the Indianapolis 500 every time we hit the road. I'm afraid one of these days we're going to hit the road literally, if you get my drift.
