“You see,” Nana continued her story, “in North Pole Village, locks were unheard of, so most elves were unfamiliar with them. Only Santa, Ailfrid, and, of course, Elric, the wise old elf, who was the elder of North Pole Village, were aware of such things.”

It will be different to walk in the Museum and not see the Christmas Trees the various businesses decorated for us after next week. They all are beautiful in their own way.

Today, we begin looking at the prophecy of Habakkuk. Little is known about Habakkuk. This is the only time this name is mentioned in the Bible. All we know is that he was a contemporary of Jeremiah. From the book we learn that it was written before the defeat of Jerusalem by Babylon in 597 BC.

We didn’t have as much traffic for the Breakfast with Santa as we’ve had in the past. There was also another fund raiser going on the same time which we were glad to share with. The ones that came seemed to enjoy seeing Santa. We want to thank the Watonga Christian Church for setting up the tables and decorating them. The room was beautiful. And a big thanks for always letting us use their facilities.

Holly and Nicholas were excited. Today was the day they got to spend the day drinking hot cocoa their favorite way – with marshmallows and chocolate chips and piled high with whipped cream. It was a once-a-year holiday treat. While they sipped their drinks, the two siblings carefully laid out the dozens of toy catalogs that had come in the mail these past few weeks onto the living room floor and began studying them intently. They kept notebooks by their sides, trying to narrow down their Christmas lists. Mom reminded them if they asked for too many toys, they might not get the ones they really wanted.

In our last lesson I told you that Nahum is declaring the coming fall of the Assyrian Empire, of which Nineveh was the capital. They were a very violent and cruel people who ruled through fear and intimidation. In 721 BC, they defeated northern nation of Israel and put people from other countries in their places. Now, God is letting them know that their defeat and destruction is near. Nineveh falls in 612 BC

Several people stopped by our table at the Christmas Bazaar and 10 went to the museum afterwards. There weren’t as many vendors at the bazaar as there have been in the past but there seemed to be a steady stream of people passing through. The Grinch and Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus were there too. It was good to see people I haven’t seen in a while. The Christmas Trees will be on display at the museum and you can vote on them there or at the Breakfast with Santa December 11, 2021, being held from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the Christian Church 400 N. Noble until December 18, 2021.

What Is Mariticide?

Body
Mariticide: One who kills her husband or boyfriend. Is it wrong to have thoughts of committing mariticide just before the holidays? Y'all know I'm speaking metaphorically.

Greetings, everyone, today, we start with the book of Nahum. Notice how the book starts: “An oracle concerning Nineveh.” Hopefully, all of you remember the story of Jonah. God sent Jonah to Nineveh with a message that Niveveh was going to be destroyed. However, Nineveh repented and God spared the city. Jonah prophesied from 800 BC 750 BC. Nahum is dated between 663 BC – 612 BC. This is more than 100 years after Jonah. Nahum 1:3 tells us, “The LORD is slow to anger and great in power, and the LORD will by no means clear the guilty.” Nahum tells Nineveh that the time of God’s judgment on it has been set. It has no more 2nd chances. Nineveh, the capital of the Assyrian Empire, was conquered in 612 BC.
