The Watonga Eagles wrestlers left the state meet with a third place finish for Ernesto Duenez. in weight class 190 The state wrestling meet was held Feb.

The Geary Lady Bison fought a hard battle in regional playoffs to defeat Cimarron 63-42. However, they were not so fortunate when they met Kremlin-Hillsdale at Fairview, losing 49-86 to end their season with nine wins and 15 loses.

Watonga Girls Basketball played Hennessey on Saturday Feb. 18 in District 1, winning by 39 points, 72-33.

The Watonga Eagles wrestlers left the regional tournament with four wrestlers moving on to next week and finished in seventh place of 31 teams. Five team members placed but one came up just shy of qualifying for state meet.

Lady Eagle coaches Lauren Campos and Alyssa Fuxa were guest at the Watonga Kiwanis noon meeting Feb. 2.

On senior night at Geary High School, the Lady Bison started the night off with a big W, smacking Sharon Mutual 53-38. The Lady Bison will next play in the district playoffs with tipoff at 6 p.m.
