Parents Invited to Thanksgiving Lunch at Geary Schools

In a series of lop-sided losses, area high schools were largely eliminated in the first round of football playoff games. Canton lost to Velma-Alma 0-50, while Geary lost to Timberlake 662.
The Geary High School Girls Cross Country team was recognized with the Distinguished Academic Achievement Award. This was presented to teams that had a minimum of 3.5 GPA and ranked top 10% of their classification.

Geary Cross Country Recognized

Area veterans were honored at a patriotic program Friday on Veterans' Day. Students presented songs, poems, readings, and held a flag folding ceremony. The Middle and High School band played the National Anthem, Stars and Stripes Forever, and America the Beautiful. We thank our veterans for attending, and for their service to our country. The photo features the 4th and 5th grade chorus.

The Bison ended their regular season Friday, November 4, with a solid 32-15 win against Corn Bible. Their season record of 5-5 wins and 4-2 District conference wins qualified Geary for the 1st round of State Class C playoffs Friday.

The Watonga Eagle football season ended Friday night with a loss to the Hinton Comets. This shuts the Eagles out of post season play. Hinton was 5 and 3 coming into the Watonga game, while the Eagles were 2 and 6 with one cancellation. The final score was 25-6, with the Comets coming out on top.

Sixth-Grade Roundball Tourney Set

Watonga sixth-graders will host a basketball festival scheduled Nov. 12. The games will be two 15minute halves with an overtime sudden death. There will be three minute warmups and a two minute halftime and coaches will be allowed three timeouts per game. Girls start at 8:30 a.m.
