Boys’ Summer Pride Suspended

Both Watonga high school and junior high athletics for the Eagles’ boys have been suspended until July 8 after one player tested positive for COVID-19 prior to a Summer Pride strength and conditioning workout last week.

MLB Set to Return for 60-Game Schedule

NEW YORK (AP) — Major League Baseball issued a 60-game schedule Tuesday night that will start July 23 or 24 in empty ballparks as the sport tries to push ahead amid the coronavirus following months of acrimony.

Lady Bison Softball Starts Summer League

After roughly three months without live-action for Geary High School, the Lady Bison varsity fast-pitch softball team took the field on Tuesday, June 16 at Hinton High School for a pair of summer league scrimmages against Navajo High School and the host Hinton Lady Comets.

Lady Eagles’ Cheerleading Practice & Tryout Dates Set for Later this Month

Watonga Public Schools announced over the weekend on its official Facebook page that practices and tryouts for Lady Eagles’ varsity cheerleading (incoming grades 9- 12) were to begin in two weeks. On June 23-25, Watonga will host practices from 7-10 a.m.

MLB Proposes New 76-Game Season

NEW YORK - Major League Baseball has made another try to start the coronavirus-delayed season in early July, proposing a 76-game regular season, expanding the playoffs from 10 teams to as many as 16 and allowing players to earn about 75% of their prorated salaries.

Bison Summer Pride Underway, Fast-Pitch Softball Summer League Held in Hinton Starts Next Week

Geary Public Schools began its annual Bison Summer Pride strength and conditioning this week for boys’ and girls’ athletics at both the high school and junior high levels. For the rest of this month, high school boys will have Summer Pride each week from 8-10 a.m.
