The Caddo County Retired Educators held its first meeting of the school year September 9 at the Caddo Kiowa Technology Center in Fort Cobb.There were 14 members present, along with one visitor. President Paula Squires called the meeting to order.

Editor’s note: The Watonga Republican created a live stream of the city council meeting.When the Watonga City Council met Wednesday, it was in front of a packed house with at least two live streams for those who could not attend.

Animal Cruelty Charged in Dog’s Death

According to probable cause affidavits filed in Blaine County, two Canton residents are facing animal cruelty charges.The affidavits allege that a Blaine County deputy was contacted by Kimberly Robinson who had picked up a dog at Canton and taken it to a veterinarian in Yukon.

Small Business Less Optimistic in August

OKLAHOMA CITY – The NFIB Small Business Optimism Index fell by 2.5 points in August to 91.2, erasing all of July’s gain. This is the 32nd consecutive month below the 50-year average of 98. The Uncertainty Index rose to 92, its highest level since October 2020.
