Local Students on UCO Honor Roll

The University of Central Oklahoma recently announced the students named to the university’s honor rolls, a distinction given to those who achieve the highest academic standards. For the fall 2021 semester, 1,523 students were named to the President’s Honor Roll, an honor achieved by those who recorded a “straight-A” or 4.0 GPA.

Hi everybody! Another week with snow and a little ice. We closed on Thursday. I didn't want to get out in the wind and blowing snow and I didn't want anyone else to have to get out. I'm sorry for those of you that didn't get a meal delivered but I have to think about the volunteers' safety. And now it sounds like it may come in ice and snow again this week. You may be covered with snow as you read this.

Welcome to the Harris Hotel for Grands where grandkids check-in and would never check out if their parents didn't insist. If it weren't for certain governmental busybodies, I'm sure they'd leave 'em here indefinitely. It'd be longer but we all gotta go sometime if you get my drift.

Our Site was closed on Monday because of President's Day Observance. Who knows, if we do get snow and ice again on Wednesday we may be closed again. The weather pattern we are currently having makes it hard to plan for anything.

Recycling Now Available in Watonga

WATONGA – Watonga city officials and employees were on hand Saturday to kick off the city’s new recycling service in collaboration with the company Replenysh. Watonga residents, and anyone else who wants to recycle here, can drop off their materials to the city public works facility at 313 East 2nd St.

Hinton Trustees Hold Special, Regular Meetings Tuesday

HINTON – The Hinton Board of Trustees met on Tuesday evening, Feb. 15, to discuss agenda items for the town, the Hinton Public Works Authority and the Hinton Recreation and Tourism Trust. It was the trustees’ second meeting that day, after they gathered with representatives of the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes that afternoon to discuss development north of downtown near the tribe’s Sugar Creek Casino.
