State Superintendent Reacts to Literacy Bill

Senate Bill 1788 by Sen. Adam Pugh and House Speaker Kyle Hilbert was signed by the Governor today at a special ceremony held at John Rex Elementary. In attendance was State Superintendent Lindel Fields, who expressed strong support for the bipartisan legislation.

Budget Process Begins for City

The Watonga City Council met in regular session Tuesday evening.In response to a move by council member Neal Riley, the city proclaimed April 24 as Arbor Day in the city, the first step in gaining Tree City status.

New Look for Watonga Airport

Bill Addresses Plumber Shortages

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Senate Business and Insurance Committee on Thursday unanimously advanced legislation from Sen. David Bullard, RDurant, to recruit more people into the plumbing industry and make it easier for individuals to get licensed in the field.

Ferguson Features

The Fergusons also participated in the 1893 Land Run which opened the Cherokee Outlet and Strip to settlement. The Cherokee Strip is a 2.5 mile-wide strip across the top of Oklahoma, the result of a surveying error. The 1893 Run was the fourth and largest run of about 6.5 million acres.
