GEARY – It was just a few days before the Geary Invitational when disaster threw the whole thing in doubt. With a stellar field of teams lined up, Geary was excited to host its first wrestling tournament since 2020.

GEARY – The City of Geary is seeking donations to help it complete a new animal shelter that it hopes will help reduce the stray animal population and reunite pets with their owners. The partially completed shelter is located across the street from the city’s wastewater treatment plant in northeast Geary.

WATONGA – Chester Timothy Curtin, whose family guided the Watonga Republican and other newspapers through decades of change, died on New Year’s Eve, his family said. He was 77 years old.
