Courthouse Still Dealing with Storm Aftermath

Being ready and recovery were major topics Monday at the Blaine County Commissioner’s meeting. On the being ready side, the county inked agreements with the City of Weatherford to dispatch its fire departments and emergency medical services for the coming year.

Mobile Wellness at Geary

Health on the go mobile wellness unit will set up at Geary City Hall each Monday through the end of July. Those dates are June 12,19 and 26 as well as July 3, 10, 17 and 24. The location will be open from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

Art Camp Set This Week at Geary

An art camp will be held from 1-3 p.m. through June 22 for middle and high school students. They will focus on painting and murals. They will study color theory, mixing and matching colors, projection art and socially engaged art.

Local Student Named on Centenary College Spring 2023 Dean's List

SHREVEPORT, LA A total of 188 Centenary students, including one from Watonga, have been named to the Dean's List for Spring 2023. The honor list names all students who have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher in 12 or more semester hours taken for a letter grade during the fall semester.

The Arkansas River could have about 30 percent less water by the end of the century due to climate change, a new study out of Oklahoma State University predicts. The study looks at the Arkansas River basin as a whole, which flows through Colorado, the southern half of Kansas and Oklahoma.
