Mercy Watonga Part of Grant Award for Rural Health

OKLAHOMA CITY — The U.S. Department of Agriculture awarded more than $1.9 million to help fund capital projects at Mercy hospitals in three rural Oklahoma communities.

New Nurse Profile - Julie McCullough

Julie McCullough is the new nurse at Geary Schools this year. She has been a nurse for 11 years. Her favorite snack is anything spicy, chips, peanuts, almonds and cake. Her dream vacation would be traveling through Europe. She is a graduate of Oklahoma City College.

New Teacher Profile - Sara Selcer

Sara Selcer will be a first grade teacher at Geary this year. She is an UCO graduate and she has been teaching for 21 years. Her dream vacation would be to the United Kingdom and her favorite snack is ice cream! MS.

Meet the Teacher Night Set For August 1

Again this year, students who attend Geary Public Schools will be provided with all the supplies they need. With this load lifted off the shoulders of families, all that remains is for them to come out to their respective schools for Meet the Teacher on Aug. 1

New Teacher Profile - Samantha Finney

Samantha Finney will teach third grade math and science this year at Geary. She is a first year teacher and graduated from SWOSU. Her favorite snack is Sweet Tarts and her dream vacation would be to Switzerland.

Cindi Horn will be an elementary school special education teacher this year at Geary. She is a graduate of UCO and SWOSU and has been teaching nine years. Her favorite snack is crunchy or jalapeno Cheetos, peanut M&Ms or anything chocolate. Her dream vacation would be going to Hawaii.

New Teacher Profile - Julissa Martinez

Julissa Martinez will be teaching middle school English and language arts. She is a first year teacher, having graduated from SWOSU. Julissa says her dream vacation would be a trip to Greece, and she loves anything sweet or sour!

New Teacher Profile - Michael McCullough

Michael McCullough will be the band director at Geary Schools this year. He graduated from UCO and has been an educator for six years. His favorite snack is coffee and protein bars and his dream vacation would be going to Scotland.

High school students: summer band is quickly approaching! It will be from 8 a.m.- 2 p.m. July 31 – Aug. 4. It is required for all high school band members. This week of practice will be equivalent to an entire month of inclass rehearsals.
