With the schools on very solid financial footing, the Watonga district is adding some capabilities and improvements that were not possible previously. For instance, this month, equipment for the new elementary cafeteria has been ordered. The STEM lab equipment has been ordered beginning to arrive.

Annual Holiday Bazaar Set for December 3rd

The Blaine County Association of Oklahoma Home & Community Education (OHCE) will be holding their Annual Holiday Bazaar and Santa’s Village on Saturday, December 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Blaine County Fairgrounds in Watonga. Admission is free and open to the public.

Legislative Calendar at a Glance

Newly elected or re-elected state senators and representatives will be sworn in Nov. 16. Then they will begin planning and submitting ideas for the upcoming sessions. The bill request deadline for lawmakers is Dec. 9. The ideas are researched by staff but House members can only file eight bills.

City Awards Garbage Bid

Watonga City Council agreed Tuesday night to enter into a contract with Veteran Waste Solutions for garbage collection. Until now, garbage collection had been a city chore.
