Mystery Illness Strikes Hydro

There is a mystery illness of sorts going around Hydro and parts of Custer and Caddo counties. The Oklahoma State Department of Health is trying to get to the bottom of it. There is no mystery as to what the illness is. It is an E.coli infection caused by Campylobacter and Shigatoxin.

STILLWATER, Okla. – Certified crop advisors, producers and farmers/ranchers are encouraged to take part in the 2022 Winter Crops School scheduled for Dec. 14-15 at Oklahoma State University’s Student Union.
Chisholm Trail Technology Center Health Careers II students visited the Oklahoma Blood Institute in Enid, Oklahoma, on November 3. OBI employees walked students through various skills, including venipuncture, which they recently learned as a part of their Phlebotomy course at CTTC. Students attending the job shadow day included (left to right) Sarena Fletcher, Yamile Saucedo, Jodie Hill, and Shaina Hamil.

Recycled Tire Gardens Yield Learning Experiences

STILLWATER, Okla. – A Hughes County recycled tire garden project has been recognized as a finalist for the Keep Oklahoma Beautiful Environmental Excellence award. The program focuses on teaching Choctaw Nation youth and adults to grow and market culturally relevant crops.

Hi everybody! I hope you’re all doing good. I’m actually writing this on Sunday evening. I’m anxious to see how much snow we’ll be getting on Monday. Of course they change the forecast every time you watch. Yesterday we were gonna get six inches on Monday and more on Tuesday.

Now that Thanksgiving and Christmas are looming large, I think it's time for me to stop spuddling about when I should be getting this house in order. I think someday in the not-so-near future seems like a reasonable goal, dontcha think?

Oler Found Guilty on all Counts

Following a two-day trial, Christopher Oler was found guilty on all nine counts against him. Those counts were three charges of sexual abuse on a child less than 12 years old, one count of firstdegree rape on a child under 14 and one of first-degree rape by force or fear.
