Gas Prices Continue to Rise in Oklahoma

Oklahoma gas prices have risen 6.7 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $1.61/g today, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 2,294 stations. Gas prices in Oklahoma are 28.0 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 94.0 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.

COVID-19 and social distancing requirements prompted Watonga’s American Legion Post 125 to cancel the annual Memorial Day Ceremony at the IOOF Cemetery. The Post placed an American flag on every veteran’s grave instead and displayed the larger flags on Memorial Day.

7th Annual Walk for Kids Planned

Walk for kids is a fun, family friendly event that raises funds and awareness for families served by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oklahoma City through teams of walkers. This year the walk will be virtual, with participants walking as far as they choose anywhere. They simply pick their favorite walking spot and walk when and with whom they walk. Just remember to be safe and practice social distancing along the way. The event is from 8a.m.- 8p.m. June 6 through June 14.

OK Humanities Announces Smithsonian Exhibits

Oklahoma Humanities announced the Smithsonian is coming to Oklahoma in 2021. OH will select six rural Oklahoma communities to host the traveling exhibit, Crossroads: Change in Rural America, as part of the Museum on Main Street program. The tour in Oklahoma will begin between September 2021 and June 2022.
