Today, we are once again looking at the list of seven things the LORD hates found in Proverbs 6:16-19, “There are six things that the LORD hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.”

Rita Clewell is a 13-year-old going into eighth grade at Watonga Middle School. Her favorite topics are art – although there are no art classes at middle school – and English. She loves to read and draw. Quiet, with outburst of giggles that come naturally to girls her age, she seems to be the typical small town kid.

Students Honored in All State Awards

The annual Academic Awards banquet had been set for May 16 but was canceled because of restrictions on group meetings forced by the Covid-19 pandemic. Instead the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence is partnering with OETA Public Television to broadcast a 30-minute tribute to award winning-students and educators at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, May 16, and 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 17. The program will also be shown on OETA World Channel at 8:30 p.m. May 23 and 7:30 p.m. May 30.

$281 Million in Additional Relief for Rural Healthcare Providers

Following an announcement by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) on Friday, May 1, 2020, Congressman Frank Lucas (OK-03) announced today that HHS will distribute an additional $281 million to Oklahoma’s rural hospitals provided by the CARES Act’s Provider Relief Fund, helping rural providers in support of the national response to COVID-19. Recipients of HHS’s rural distribution will include, rural acute care general hospitals and Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs), Rural Health Clinics (RHCs), and Community Health Centers located in rural areas.
