Hi Everyone! It’s been a pretty good week for me. I hope yours was good as well. We didn’t have much going on at the center, so it was a fairly quiet week. Patsy Davis’ family brought in quite a large amount of guilting materials and supplies.

While the tarmac at the Hinton Airport is undergoing a facelift, the club is operating out of Watonga, where residents can go out, watch the gliders take off and land, and perhaps sign up for an introductory flight. Glider Club Temporarily Housed at Watonga

The Oklahoma Soaring Association was formed in the 1960s, but in early 2000 moved its operation to Hinton. There, the Hinton Gliders Club, owned by members, has three club gliders and a tow plane. There are many privately owned gliders as well.

State Passes 79,000 Cases

As of Sept. 22, there were 79,072 confirmed cases of the Covid-19 virus in the state, up 1,164 in the last day, according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health. There were 14 more deaths reported, three in the last 24 hours. This brings the death toll to 962.

Many people today, most of them women, owe an unknown debt to Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Ginsburg died Sept. 18 at 87 as the result of an ongoing battle against cancer. But her life was a battle from the beginning. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1933.

W.P.D. Nabs Man on Multiple Counts

The Watonga Police Department made an arrest Sept. 21 on felony warrants. The events began when the department had contact with a juvenile about Sept. 16. That person told officers Levi Baker had traded him for an illegal weapon. The department served a no-knock warrant at 3 a.m. Sept.
