Hi Everyone! Hope you had a good week. It was kinda quiet at the center. Not much going on. I’m sure enjoying the cooler temperatures though. We were closed on Monday so only had two days of exercise last week. Larry Kerr lead the group one day and Esther Arnold led them on Friday.

Life's a Funny Thing

It's been almost a year since I was diagnosed with cancer. I'm doing great, all things considered. I don't feel any different than I did BC (before cancer). Some days, I think it's all a gag and I'll wake up to no more treatments, although they're not bad–just time-consuming.

Quilt Guild Updates

August 17 was meeting night for our local quilt guild at which we shared projects and tips, drew names for gift certificates to quilt shops, and we were treated to a viewing of a trunk show as our program for the evening with quilts made from one of our talented quilters.

Geary volunteer firefighters suited up Sept. 11 for a memorial climb to honor the victims of the World Trade Center explosions. Wearing some 90 pounds of equipment and gear, the six volunteers climbed 110 flights of 15 stairs each to commemorate what the first responders at WTC faced.

Oklahoma weather couldn’t do anything we haven’t seen, it decides to throw a little rain/snow/winter mix and the kitchen sink at us before the end of summer. Like it hasn’t been weird enough this year!
