A Saturday evening accident sent an area woman to the hospital. According to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Saige Fielder, 19, of Ames, was headed north on U.S. 281 about two miles north of Chester in Major County.

As usual, the Oklahoma weather cannot make up its mind. For a few days in a row, it will be beautiful skies, sunny and warm, heading to hot. Then it does a complete about face, turning to gray skies, cold and windy, even kicking in a little snow now and then.

Senate Approves Free Park Entry

OKLAHOMA CITY – Senate Bill 637 was approved by the Senate on Wednesday. Burns’ bill eliminates state park entry fees with the exception of motor homes and travel trailers. The fees are not to exceed $8.

Hi, everyone. I hope your week has been a good one. Mine has been OK. All the pollen has really gotten to me, especially my eyes. But all the trees that are blooming are so pretty. We have a little peach tree in our front yard that is covered with pretty pink flowers.

I don’t like paying more for things anymore than anybody else does. I don’t like it when my power bill exceeds what I budgeted for it and I have to adjust the figures. On the other hand, I like having city services like water, sewer, power and garbage collection.
