Hi everybody! I hope you had a great week. The weather has basically been nice, but John and I covered our plants, so they survived the frost and cold. I have one plant I put out. It’s a mild pepper plant. It has one good pepper on it and a bunch of buds.

We want to send a special thanks to Russell at Codey Seelke’s repair shop in Okeene. He got our delivery van back on the road Wednesday with no fuss, no drama and would only accept thanks for it. That kind of service in this day and time deserves a shout out! So, many thanks, Russell.

Happy Hallo-Thanks Christ-New Year!

I know it's getting to be that time of year, but I sure wish everyone on the popular social media page I stalk...I mean, I check out several times a day would stop reminding me how many days we have left until Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. We won't discuss New Year's Eve.

I spent some time Thursday night at a football game. I was there to shoot for the paper, and even though the merciless heat was very reminiscent of my own high school days, little else was similar.

Hi, everybody! I hope you’ve all had a good week. The rain we got Saturday night was really nice. Not enough, but we’ll take what we can get and not complain. We had several donations last week.

Ferguson Features

We received some books about the history of Southard and Okeene, the Blaine County cemeteries, and a book written about the museum titled, This Old House, which were donated to the Friends of the Ferguson Home on Saturday. A picture of Ernest Tubb and the Texas Troubadours was also donated.

Once, not so long ago, I was a familiar sight on these streets, perennially on the beat, looking for the stories that make this place unique. Then the news bug bit and a bigger market called, a place that wanted personality added to its paper, that wanted change.

An Alarming Situation

Y'all probably remember reading recently about all the changes David and I have been making in the Harris household; changes that are completely out of character for us and by us, I mean me. David makes me take care of any task that requires talking to people on the telephone which I hate.
