Before I get started on this article, I want to request special prayers on behalf of my daughter Spring and her husband Dan Raines. Spring has a very aggressive form of breast cancer that did not respond to her first round of chemo. This week will be her 2nd dose of this round of chemo.

It’s been a quiet week at the museum with just a few visitors. Barbara said a couple of people said they would come back when they had more time so they could look around in depth. Clay was out Wednesday doing more work on the front porch.

SENIOR CENTER NEWS

Hi everyone! Its already been a week. They go by so fast now. It seems like I just get one column written and it’s time to do another one. John has gone fishing today so it’s quiet in the house. I hope he catches some fish. Would make a good supper.

Two young men came by the museum Saturday. One of them grew up in Watonga and is now living in Alva. We are thankful that he came by to see the museum and brought a friend. The wood burning cook stove has markings on it stating Grand Company, January 15, 1901.

Leave Us Seniors Alone

Getting old can be wonderful. It certainly beats the alternative. We were looking forward to David's retirement after 35 years with one company and 42 years of marriage. I know David was anyway. Me, I wasn't so sure.

Dear Editor & People of Watonga, The T. B. Ferguson Home Museum needs extensive restoration work. Continued lack of funding and help to do the work has resulted in a steady decline in the condition of the home over the years.

The Super Bowl of Colds

I'm guessing the patron saint of colds is mad at me for making fun of David last week regarding his man cold. My cold has morphed into the cold to end all colds. I’ve caught the “Oscar,” the “Gold Cup,” the “Super Bowl” of all colds. In other words, a man cold.

OSU Spring Graduates Include Blaine County Natives

STILLWATER – On Friday, Oklahoma State University released a complete list of the 4,047 students and 2,508 Oklahomans who graduated from the school this spring, according to the Office of the Registrar. The list includes several Blaine County students.
