The Canton girls’ basetball team faced Timberlake, Covington and Thomas-Fay-Custer recently, with mixed results. On Dec 12 the Lady Tigers beat Timberlake 66-35 but were defeated Dec. 15 by the Lady Bulldogs of Thomas-Fay-Custer 39-41 They saw action again Dec.

The money was raised at the Mason’s Pancake Breakfast and is to benefit the music program. Canton, Okeene Rematch in Tourney

Many area basketball teams were in tournament play this weekend. Canton and Okeene both saw court time in the Canton tournament. On the boys’ side, the Canton Tigers tipped off Thursday against Cherokee, but could not come out with the win, succumbing to Cherokee in a 91-27 blowout.

The Watonga Lady Eagles were at the Minco Classic over the weekend. Coach Lauren Campos had this to say about the tournament and the outcome; “ Negative: We lost. Positive: we outscored them in 3/4 quarters, and we were runner up in a very tough Minco tournament! I’m proud of what we accomplished; we have lots of great things to build on. Love you girls! Eagle Basketball Teams Hit Rough Patch

At the Minco Bulldog Classic, the Watonga Eagles took a loss the first day, Dec. 8 at the hands of Boone-Apache by a score of 4655. They bounced back the next day, defeating the host Minco 69-65.

On Friday, Dec. 2, the Watonga esports team went to the state playoffs/Smash Bros. qualifier tournament in Altus The Rocket League 1 team competed in the playoffs, and the boys played well, but sadly weren’t able to progress to state.
