GEARY – Seeking to reduce confusion, redundancy and favoritism, the Geary Public Schools Board of Education discussed possible changes to its booster club policies during a regular board meeting at the Stegall-Long Field House on Monday, Aug. 2.

WEATHERFORD, OK — Devon Energy donated to 17 organizations in western Oklahoma as part of its commitment to supporting emergency responders in the company’s operating areas. “Emergency responders put the community’s needs first on a daily basis, and they must have the proper tools to do their jobs well,” said Lee Courange, Devon superintendent.

Erik Tryggestad and his family visited the North Leach Church of Christ this past Sunday, Aug. 1. Tryggestad is the president and CEO of The Christian Chronicle, an international newspaper affiliated with Churches of Christ and published from offices at Oklahoma Christian University. Tryggestad told the North Leach Church on Sunday about some of his international travels while reporting for the newspaper. GEARY – Geary SkillsUSA instructor Cody McPherson left with some hardware after attending the Oklahoma Summit conference in Oklahoma City. The conference, hosted by the Oklahoma Association for Career & Technical Education, drew educators from throughout the state.

WATONGA – Alicia Ford spent years patrolling the streets of Watonga, helping to keep the city safe. Now, she’s giving back in a very different – and delicious – way.

Rose-Moore Gardens, a new residential/respite care facility in Watonga, held an open house on Friday, July 30. The Watonga Chamber of Commerce stopped by during the open house for a ceremonial ribbon-cutting, as well. Rose-Moore is managed by Louise Dunn, an LPN, and her husband Donnie.
