Hi Everyone! I hope you are all doing well. I’ve still got shingles and its miserable at time. I’m going back to my doctor today. I worked at the Center last Tuesday and survived it. The quilting ladies are working on Martha Whites quilt and its going to be really pretty. Come by and see it.

The finished Family Dollar sign put up by General Lighting & Sign Services Inc. With Family Dollar set to open in two to three weeks, City Manager Larry Mitchell said Watonga is very fortunate to have a new business coming to town.

Lucky Star Casino Ready to Open

With the opening of the casino this week, Lucky Star is kicking off its opening with a Tribal Night event. Cheyenne and Arapaho tribe members are invited to an exclusive preview of the brand-new casino on Thursday. A Cheyenne and Arapaho ID will be required for entry.

Watonga Trout Derby Taking Place

Fishing enthusiasts will be able to partake in the annual Roman Nose Trout Derby sooner than expected. The event, which was originally set to take place in March, will now take place from Feb. 5-7.

As of January 19, there were 358,374 confirmed cases of the Covid-19 virus in the state, up by 1,558 in the last 24 hours according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health. There were 43 deaths reported in the last day. This brings the death toll to 3,037.
