SWOSU Announces Fall 2024 Honor Rolls

The President’s Honor Roll and Dean’s Honor Roll at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) in Weatherford, Sayre, and Yukon have been announced for the 2024 fall semester, including students from 18 states in the U.S. and 24 countries worldwide.

In 1981, Dr. Tim Nelson joined the practice of his father, optometrist Coot Nelson, in Watonga. The elder Nelson had begun the practice in 1947, shortly after his days as a heroic bomber pilot in WWII.Now, 43 years after hanging out his shingle, Tim Nelson is closing his practice.
The Watonga Community Theatre asked for and recieved approval to begin work on a facade upgrade. The grup is not asking the city for any funding, only permission to have the work done at its own expense.

When the Watonga City Council met in regular session Tuesday, the agenda was heavy on the financial outlook and light on much else.The council is unable to do much more than paying its bills and approving payments that have already been budgeted because there are only two sitting council members.
Watonga High School Academic Team is the Area Runner-Up, which qualifies it for state competition on February 1.
