Blaine County Comes Through for Foster Kids

Darla Brooks, Pam Ritchey, and Scott Walters pose with donations in an event sponsored by the Watonga Community Theatre. The event gathered over 100 children’s toys and garnered more than $3,200 to be donated to the Blaine County Foster Kids group. The donations will go to local foster children between the ages of two months to 17 years old. BCFK

The Blaine County Roundup club hosted a Barrel Race on Dec. 5 in Watonga. According to the group’s Facebook page, this was its first race and the turnout wasn’t “bad.” The group will host another race on Saturday.

Libraries Forced to Get Creative During Pandemic

Libraries are often a refuge for people who need information - and a place where people without internet access can go for things like printing and business services. Some library leaders during the COVID-19 pandemic had to make tough decisions, like whether to stay open, limit access and offer curbside check-out services for their communities while being cognizant of the virus.

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a good week. My week got rather exciting on Wednesday when I got to take my first ride ever in the pretty, new Watonga ambulance. I had developed so server pain in my chest and after some time at the local ER they decided I had a artery trying to block off. So then I was off to see my heart doctor who took me to a surgeon who booked me for surgery.

The Sparkle Spree and Light Parade featured the parade, pictures with Santa, food trucks, deals at downtown businesses and fun all around. The lighted parade was the hit of the night, featuring vehicles and people draped in festive holiday lights.
