We had a young couple with a baby in to visit the home this week. The young man said his mother is coming for a visit and he would like to bring her to the museum while she is here. We’re glad to hear young people find the museum interesting and want to tell others about it or bring others to visit.

We had several long days on the House floor this past week as we raced to hear several hundred bills before the third-reading deadline. March 24 was the date legislation had to advance from its chamber of origin to stay active this session.

Ferguson Features

We had one visitor this week. She said she was interested in helping with the museum. I cleaned in the kitchen this week and put museum wax on the wooden furniture there. We have three old antique wooden carpet cleaners. The kind without motors so they aren’t vacuums.

We had a busy week at the Ferguson Home this week. A lady from Iola, Kansas, her Aunt from Austin, Texas, a group from Cordell, a lady from Hydro, and others from this area, making a total of 17. The group from Cordell remarked that we really have a jewel here.

The week of Feb. 21-24 was Public Education Week at the State Capitol. Because Feb. 21 is also President's Day, when most schools are closed, we had a number of public school supporters – including students, parents, teachers and administrators – visit us at the Capitol.
